We ask for your patience in reading through all the instructions.
Applying to the JET Programme is a 2-stage process:
1. An online application form needs to be completed and submitted electronically. To do so, please click Register and follow the instructions to complete and submit the application form online. Please note that it is only possible to register and complete / submit the application form during the application period, from October until the closing date for applications on the last Friday of November.
2. After online submission, several paper copies of the application form MUST be printed and sent to the JET Desk together with various supporting materials. This is the "application pack". This must reach the JET Desk by the deadline on the final Friday of November.
Please see the page Application Pack for a guide to preparing and submitting the application pack. NOTE: Speculative applications and CVs cannot be considered. Application forms are only available during the application period in October and November each year. Please note that submitted documents CANNOT be returned.
Please Note: All applicants are requested to notify the JET Desk of any periods of unavailability throughout January and February, including university examination dates, so that a possible interview can be scheduled accordingly. It is unlikely that candidates who fail to notify the JET Desk of unavailability will be rescheduled for interview should they be unavailable on an allocated interview date. If you know you will be unavailable at any time during the interview period, please enclose a short letter of explanation with your application. We shall do our best to schedule any interview accordingly, however we cannot guarantee to meet your requests. Please e-mail the JET Desk should you need to update us on dates of unavailability after sending in your application.
Prior to your application there are many things you could do to aid your future application to the JET Programme:
Applicants are recommended to research the JET Programme thoroughly before applying, particularly regarding the role of the position for which they wish to apply (ALT or CIR) and the fundamental goals of the Programme. Information can be found here and on the worldwide JET Programme website. It is also very important to read all of the information regarding the application process very carefully, as there are many documents required for an application to the Programme. Preparing an application for the JET Programme can be somewhat time-consuming so applicants are strongly advised to allow plenty of time for this. We suggest that applicants have their application proof-read before submission, possibly by a university tutor or careers advisor.
